I have a Samsung TV that had issues with the top half of the image going dim then eventually completely going out, checked the panel, still has an image you just need a torch to see anything. I work with computers and laptops and this usually means the backlight has gone/inverter board has gone. Turn off the TV (if on) and then disconnect the power from the TV. Disconnect the cable between the power board and the mainboard. Reconnect the power to the TV and turn on the TV. The LED backlights should come on and stay on and they should all have the same intensity. If not then there is a problem with the backlight array power feed
